Oh Camera Where Art Thou?

UGH! I'm getting so impatient!
I just want my camera to arrive! Is that soooo much to ask?! :P
*sigh*
Well after chewing up and spitting out a certain UNNAMED company's support team I have managed to get a full refund (item price + shipping) after my order for the Canon G7-G9 Access kit got returned to the company after "I" refused it. Of course I did no such thing because I am dying for all of my camera equipment (and camera of course) to arrive so I can get back to work!!
They said that I refused it so I couldn't get my shipping charges back. Bullocks!
So now after TONS of back and forth I have gotten my way and they have grudgingly agreed to a refund.
I can't tell you who they are because I agreed only to give them a "glowing" review if they are expected to refund me. :P
Whatever. Just give me my money you cheap-os.

Debating always leaves me all jittery like some sort of freakish sugar rush. I don't really like it.

So today I have fully exercised my debating, negotiating and executing polite insults skills while nursing burn wounds. Talk about multi-tasking! Hee hee!
Why burn wounds you ask?
Well they are not really wounds per say but more like sore marks of clumsiness only I possess.
Last night during work with a glue gun I managed to give my thumb a nice smart burn and after unplugging the glue gun to go and ice my finger, I proceeded to step on the glue gun which resulted in giving the sole of my foot a nice fat burn.
I am...a genius.

So, though with a slight limp, I can still carry my head high since I got my money back! Hurrah!
Now...where is my camera?

I secretly hope that along with my camera, my order for the knitted Harry Potter Hogwarts scarf and hat will come in too :P Hee hee
Now that I am through with all 7 books I need some cheering :P
Maybe I'll include them in a photo! :D

Anyways so my latest photo was just another from the 'Alice' and 'Fallen' series. I'll reveal a little secret to you about that shoot.
It was taken in my partner's septic overflow.
hehehe
In my defense, I DID have on shoes and it was bone dry in there. And if it makes you feel any better I washed my feet :P
Getting into the ditch was the easy part...getting out was another thing as I had to launch myself off a rock at the bottom and grab onto the side of the opening and scramble out.
One achey ankle, several scratches and a dirty dress later this shoot was over. :)

"It's a terrible daaaay.
-Oh don't be that way.
It's a terrible day for a wedding"

Heheh...that song has been stuck in my head whole morning. It's from the first musical number in The Corpse Bride (don't let the title fool you, it's a lovely movie)
It's sung by two disgruntled parents moaning about an arranged marriage.
Not my favourite by Burton but still a nice watch.

I've not taken any new photos since my camera kicked the bucket but that's just as well as I've not really had that many new ideas. I'll let them sit and stew for a while and hope they turn out better I guess. I'm not going to borrow a camera unless I really have something to do with it.
October should just hurry up already.

Pretty bleak weather here today. At least it's not as hot!

The photo that I posted today was from the last butterfly shoot with 'Bohemian Silence' 'The Hypnotist' and 'Butterfly Kisses'. Was a rather productive shoot since I managed to squeeze 4 shots out of it.
I hope I have more of those soon!

This was taken in my living room in the sunlit room. I knelt down in front of a chair with my sarong draped over the back and took the shoot with no flash, using just the morning light. Pretty simple editing too. In the other shots you can see that there was a lot of eye makeup but none took part in this shot. The makeup was fairly simple as well, using my favourite green and hot pink eyeshadow decked with yellow false eyelashes featured in another photo called '*yank*'. I shaped my eyebrows with some green glitter gel as well. That's really the only thing that stuff is good for in my opinion as it's sticky and gross and I don't want it on my skin :P
Here's the shot:

Pattern and Fawn

Well I hope you all enjoy your weekend and this shot is to your liking.
I can't wait to sleep in tomorrow as I had to get up early for work today. Pooh.

Tut tut

Deary me...I must be the worst blogger...ever.
Well...as some of you may or may not know, my camera is dead and I am looking for a new one.
So far the Canon G9 has really struck my interest but I will have to wait until October for it...blast!
So lately I've been routing though old files...i.e reject photos and trying to make some use of them. I may be borrowing some cameras now and again but I just can't wait to have my own again!!
It's so frustrating!

aaaaaannyways. Last night you got a dose of my bad sense of humor as I posted one of the shots from a Tim Burton inspired shoot that I did about a month ago. I put up another shot breifly but then decided that it really was rubbish and I should take it down.
Oh the fickleness of me!
Now that I have no camera I still want to keep posting so I chose the Burtonesque portrait simply because I thought it might be fun to show my masculine side :P

This shot was taken in the corner of my room between the door and the wall. I used a desk lamp for extra lighting and I draped my extremely torn but rather dear quilt from the wall (badly held up by cheap thumbtacks) which ruined a few shots and my wig placement after toppling onto my head repeatedly.
It was intended to be a full bodied shot as I had on suspenders and boy's shorts just above the knees...and some feet eating shoes from Payless, but it just didn;t work out the way that I wanted it to!
As I explained to the people that commeneted on the first Burton post, I'll be doing this shoot again in the future.
And hopefully it wont have the vignette!!!!

Vincent Malloy

Well...hurrah! I posted!
I'll trryyyy to keep it up!
What I'll do is link the blog to the latest photo if I've updated it so you guys won't keep checking just to make sure that I'm a lazy bum! :P

Yikes!!

Whoops! I have noot blogged in forever!
Hahah sorry guys.
I figured no one was reading it so I didn't have to kill myself to think of clever things to say :P

Well here I am, off of my vacation and back in my bat cave office.
Feeling a little gloomy to be honest but I'll survive. Missing someone is never fun.

As you can see I had a nice little hiccup of photos on my stream. I hope I can keep some more new ones coming. I have a few ideas but I'm not sure how to execute them. It will come to me I suppose but...I wish it would hurry! :P

I'm shocked by how many of the recent ones took a skinny dip in the Flickr interestingness pool. I'm not sure exactly how they choose them but I'm happy for the response I got from being picked! Hee hee.

I don't really have anything interesting to say...I'll do laundry tomorrow...
I don't know why I am telling you that either :P

I was thinking it would be cool to have some of my photos printed out as jigsaw puzzles since I am a nerd and I love that kind of thing...but that's kind of just a random thought. I don't think I will really do that.
Who knows?

Sorry I didn't blog on the creation of the past photos. I will try to remember to do that for the future pics! :)

Anyways, I'm boring myself to death.

No Rest for the...restless...

I really should be trying to sleep right now...but instead I'll blog about my latest photo. That's the reason I made this blog in the firt place...so I can write about how they go.
So recently us ladies have had it up to our ears with the whole 'Tits and ass' mentality. This is our little way of taking a stand.
The first to start was the lovely Allure F, followed by Miss Aniela, then Haggis Chick. And the list will go on!
Now that I have finally thought up a concept it's my turn.

I got the idea at work and was dying to come home and try it out.
I stripped my animal print quilt off my bed and flipped it to expose it's black under belly and used that as my back drop. I pretty much draped it over some bags that I piled up on the end of my bed and on to the floor. The bags were to give the backdrop more height.

Now...I have to let you in on a little secret.
I HATE body paint. It makes me feel sick when it's on my skin. I just want to go mad. I really feel like I will never be clean again.
Anyways I smeared the awful stuff on my skin, set the pot on my paint try and had to beat the 2 second timer.

I don't have a 10 second timer anymore...my camera display is broken and everything I do on it is from memory...and I somehow turned off the 10 second timer and enabled the 2 second one instead. I'm royally pissed but that's the best I can do for now.

I think this one took about 30 tries and then I get tried of throwing myself about so I called it quits.
I think I spent more time getting that stupid paint off of my skin then actually wearing it...
Ew ew ew ewwwwww!

So I was deliberating whether to make this shot black and white or not, but I figured that this is supposed to be a natural shot, and I also have so many sepia/black and white shots recently that it's time to show my 'true colours'.

This is the result of my shoot:

My Middle Name

My mother always said that in our family, our middle names should be 'lateness'.

Now...I HATE being late as equally as I hate other people being late. I usually do my best to be as punctual as possible but today...it just didn't work out.

Got to the airport at 7:40am after a mad rush to get there. 10 minutes late *cringe*
So when I got to the restaurant to be greeted by crickets I was kicking myself quite hard.
So after running up and down the airport I managed to find my breakfast date and see her off to Paris. She was later than I was...
I couldn't even wrap her gift properly because at 7:15 I realize that we have no tape.
*sigh*

So...a pretty uneventful day. During my five loads of laundry I got a new photo idea. Might try it out tomorrow. Wish me luck.

So after one episode of lateness I managed to be 20 minutes late for work. AUGH!!!

You know those moment when your alarm goes off and you tell it 'Five more minutes mom...'
and you set it to go off in five more minutes (my cheap-o alarm has no snooze option)
and well...in five minutes you're as easy to wake as the dead.
I woke up 10 minutes past the time I was supposed to be at work and managed to reach there 10 minutes later.
I think my car can time travel...
Also helps that no one was on the road but...time travel is way more impressive to claim...

Late twice in one day! I hope I got that out of my system!

Lets hope tomorrow I have something more interesting to talk about than tardiness and laundry.

6 hours to go (First post & Intro)

Hello my pretties!
Well...while I am chewing on some new photo ideas I've decided to make a wee blog for you all who'd like to keep an eye on what I'm doing while I'm not posting.

At the moment, I'm at work with 6 hours left to go. Fun fun fun.
I finish work at midnight and I'll have to time warp to my house where I need to get some sleep before I have to be up and at the airport for 7:30 am.
What makes that worse is I'm not actually the one travelling.
*sigh*

It should be alright though. I'll have a coffee and spark up for my uneventful day of doing laundry and cleaning.

Yesterday was quite the opposite!
I went on a zip line tour in the rainforest here!
Now I have to admit that I was really frightened...I was pretty much just jumping off before I had time to think about how high I was and how fast you zip along these lines.
I didn't bother taking my camera because with my luck it would have done a swan dive out of my pocket and then I'd be fit to be tied. Once I get some photos of the event I'll stick one or two up here.
Please keep in mind that I will most likely look like I need to use the bathroom in all of the photos.

I must say though, it was quite thrilling once I adapted to being thrown through trees supported by a couple of wires and a harness. I had a bit of trouble with the breaking due to the fact that I either had my arm too far back or I was putting too much pressure on the line at once which resulted in my chicken wing arm being catapulted repeatedly off the wire every time I tried to break.
In reality, I really didn't even need to break but I wanted to at least know that I could break properly incase a situation arose that I'd need to. So my first three or four lines were a bit more jolting than they should have been, not to mention I managed to travel down sideways once(much to my horror)
I know I am making this experience sound horrible but it really wasn't! It was my first time so I was just nervous. It was totally enjoyable. The scenery, the speed, being so high up in the trees, green everywhere, the group I was with and the courses were extremely fun. The staff were also impressive and understanding.
Needless to say though...my arm is sore :P

After that I went to a friend's house for an exceptionally cooked wahoo burger (yum!), then off for a coffee and then relaxed the rest of the day.
Sundays = the best day of the week.
Any day with 'sun' in it is bound to be a good one!

Well folks, that's all for now! Keep reading and I'll update as much as possible.
Any feedback is appreciated!

Toodles!

AArchibald

P.S. 5 1/2 hours left to go now...
